A K-Band Quadrature Oscillator with Ultra Low Amplitude/Phase Mismatches
In this paper, a K-band quadrature voltage-controlled oscillator (QVCO) with an oscillation frequency ranges from 22.6 GHz to 25 GHz in 90-nm CMOS technology is presented. By utilizing three cross-coupled pairs, the quadrature signals with ultra low amplitude and phase errors are obtained. The dc power consumption is 22 mW at 1.2 V. The measured phase noise is -102 dBc/Hz at 1-MHz offset frequency, and output power is 0 dBm at 24 GHz. The amplitude and phase errors are 0.65 dB and 0.22°, respectively. The figure-of-merits FOM and FOM<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">T</inf> are -176.5 and -177 dBc/Hz, respectively.
