Detection of Propyl Paraben by New Electrochemical Sensor Based on a Polypyrrole‐Decorated Mn₃O₄ Modified Electrode

Abstract A new electrochemical sensor was developed to examine the presence of propyl paraben. Infertility is currently one of the most prevalent issues that every country grapples with. The main reason behind it is the presence of parabens in cosmetics and food products. As a result, our objective was to evaluate a highly accurate biosensor for detecting propyl paraben. Following their assessment by IR, XRD, FE‐SEM, HR‐TEM, and XPS, we develop an electrode for this specific purpose. A recently developed sensor that identifies propyl paraben by utilizing bare PtE and Ppy‐Mn 3 O 4 ‐Ppy‐NC‐PtE modified electrode is employed to achieve the desired outcome on a modified electrode using pharmaceutically pure propyl paraben powder. Using voltammetry, we measure square wave voltammetry (SWV), cyclic voltammetry (CV), and differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) to get signals. The resulting sensitivity is 0.064, 1.17, and 0.206 µA/µMcm −2 and linear regression equation R 2 = 0.99 0.97, 0.99 respectively. The limit of detection (LOD) for the three different measurements were determined to be 11.55, 4.95, and 11.84 µM, respectively.
