The article for the first time examines the work of the editorial office of the “Leninets" newspaper in the 1960s. The newspaper was published at the V.I. Lenin Moscow State Pedagogical Institute (now Moscow Pedagogical State University). In the article, the author examines documents from the state archives (minutes of meetings of the party bureau of the Lenin Moscow State Pedagogical Institute), memoirs of editorial staff of that time, and gives her own interviews of them. The paper examines the work of editors and other employees of the newspaper, and for the first time focuses on their biographies. Later, the editor Vsevolod Alekseevich Surganov subsequently headed the Department of Soviet Literature at the Gorky Literary Institute; another editor - Artur Vladimirovich Petrovsky - became vice-president of the USSR Academy of Pedagogical Sciences, organized the Russian Academy of Education and was appointed its president.
