Synthesis of Stable Lignin-Derived Conjugated Microporous Polymers and Their Application as Hydrophobic and Antibacterial Additives for Industrial Coatings
Lignin-derived guaiacol has hydrophobic properties, certain biocompatibility, etc. It is thus presumed that this lignin-derived product has good application prospects in waterproof coating. In this article, lignin-derived conjugated microporous polymers were successfully prepared using guaiacol as the lignin-derived material. The structure of the materials was characterized by 1H NMR, 13C NMR, IR, TG, BET, and other test methods, and the hydrophobicity of the materials was investigated by a water contact angle test. Subsequently, it was incorporated into industrial paint as an additive, mixed homogeneously, and prepared by a scraping method to obtain coatings with different contents. It was found that the coating has good hydrophobic properties. In addition, the coating has good UV absorption and visible light absorption ability. The successful preparation of this polymer and its successful application as an additive in decorative coatings open up new directions for the high-value utilization of lignin-derived materials.
