UMA REVISÃO SOBRE COMPLICAÇÕES COMUNS E SUAS RESOLUÇÕES NA RINOPLASTIA FUNCIONAL
ABSTRACT: Rhinoplasty, a surgical procedure that is both aesthetic and functional, is widely recognized worldwide, notably for its ability to improve obstructed airways. However, as with any surgery, rhinoplasty presents risks of complications, ranging from mild discomfort to life-threatening risks. This integrative literature review was carried out in March and April 2024 using the following databases: PubMed, the Virtual Health Library (VHL) – which includes the Latin American and Caribbean Health Sciences Literature (LILACS) and the Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO). Five articles were selected to make up the sample. The importance of advanced techniques in mitigating visible complications and excessive skin retraction was highlighted, as well as the need for careful assessment to align patient expectations. Early identification and appropriate treatment of complications such as nasal obstruction, laterorrhinia and septal deviation are crucial to ensure satisfactory and safe surgical results. The limitations underline the importance of future research aimed specifically at functional rhinoplasty in order to provide a more comprehensive and accurate understanding of its complications and intervention strategies.
