Comparative analysis of flexural strength in concrete beams reinforced with GFRP and steel rebars
The major problem occurred in the reinforced concrete structure is the corrosion of steel rebars, Due to this the failure of structure. To overcome the failure of the steel can be replaced by the Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer (GFRP). GFRP bars have more durable against water. Also, it’s durability and more tensile strength, thus making its performance superior to that of steel rebars. Use of GFRP rebars also can be cost effective structure. From the literature study observed that the GFRP bars is better then the steel rebars in tensile strength, cost. Compressive strength of concrete for M40, M50 carried out in research. Flexural test of beam also carried out for the concrete using the GFRP & steel rebars.
