Blockchain-based e-voting: advancing the integrity of democratic systems
Traditional voting systems often suffer from inherent flaws, including a lack of transparency and susceptibility to manipulation. These shortcomings undermine the integrity of democratic processes and erode public trust in election outcomes. In response, this research investigates the potential of blockchain technology and fingerprint verification to update the voting paradigm. By leveraging blockchain's immutable ledger and decentralised architecture, transparency and security can be significantly enhanced, ensuring the integrity of electoral processes. Moreover, incorporating fingerprint authentication adds a layer of identity verification, mitigating concerns related to voter impersonation and fraud. Through a comprehensive examination of the proposed blockchain-powered e-voting system, this study aims to address the shortcomings of traditional voting mechanisms and pave the way for more trustworthy and inclusive democratic systems.
