Design and structural analysis of a 3D supersonic biplane wing
Supersonic biplanes offer a promising alternative for reducing drag and mitigating the sonic boom effect associated with conventional supersonic aircraft. This paper explores the design and structural analysis of a 3D supersonic biplane wing, incorporating modern computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations and structural optimization techniques. The study focuses on the aerodynamic efficiency, wave cancellation effects, and material selection to enhance performance. Results indicate that optimized wing configurations significantly reduce wave drag and improve stability at high Mach numbers. Furthermore, the paper discusses the history of supersonic transport, challenges in previous designs, and how the new biplane concept overcomes these limitations.
