Identification and analysis of construction project risks in Vadodara city

While risk is a typical occurrence in all industry, it is especially important in construction projects since these projects involve multiple activities that may occur simultaneously and at different phases, making them unpredictable. Risk identification and analysis practice is a useful tool to prevent unexpected results and minimize negative effects from occurring when risks are anticipated and managed. This research investigates and analyses various risks associated with construction projects in Vadodara city, focusing on six major risk categories: technical, financial, procurement, construction, legal, and other risks . A total of 121 responses were gathered from construction professionals, including project managers, clients, and consultant s, to assess the key risk factors that influence project outcomes in the region. The study reveals that financial risks were identi fied as the most significant by respondents, with an average rating of 3.91, followed by technical risks (3.83) and construct ion risks (3.72). Legal risks were found to have the lowest rating (3.38), indicating that further attention may be needed in thi s area. Statistical analysis using one-way ANOVA confirmed the significant differences among the various risk factors, highlighting the importance of targeted risk management strategies. The study highlights how prone Vadodara's construction industry is to a range of hazards that affect project budgets, schedules, and quality. In order to improve project results in the region, the study promotes ongoing training and the use of cutting-edge risk management tools. It also asks for improved risk management methods, specifically in financial and technical risk reduction. This study lays the groundwork for further research on risk mitigation in the construction sector and adds insightful information to the corpus of knowledge on construction risk management.
