Optimizing data security and utility in healthcare: a role-based encryption framework for EMRs
Strong privacy-preserving procedures should be used to protect sensitive patient data since one of the biggest difficulties in healthcare is the secure exchange of Electronic Medical Records (EMRs). Through a comparative study of well-known privacy-preserving strategies such data de-identification and anonymisation, completely homomorphic encryption, and differential privacy, this study aims to enhance the present methods of safely exchanging EMR data. The literature review also highlights existing methods and their shortcomings. As a result, a framework has been developed to enhance the privacy and security of exchanging EMR data.
