Impacted Video Capsule Enteroscopy in Zenker’s Diverticulum: Case Report and Literature Review
Zenker’s diverticulum is a relatively rare condition. The true incidence of it is not really known as many patients remain asymptomatic. We report a 58-year-old female with an impacted video capsule enteroscopy in Zenker’s diverticulum. Prior esophagoscopy picked up a diverticulum; hence, suspicion for a capsule retention was high. With the help of a real-time viewer, the swift decision was taken to remove the impacted capsule and place it into the duodenum under endoscopy guidance.
