Septic Shock Due to Listeria Monocytogenes Bacteremia in a Patient with Advanced Breast Cancer
Abstract This case report outlines the clinical course of a 59-year-old female with septic shock caused by Listeria monocytogenes bacteremia in the context of advanced breast cancer. Despite initial broad-spectrum antibiotic therapy, her condition rapidly deteriorated. This report emphasizes the importance of recognizing Listeria infections in immunocompromised patients, the challenges of timely diagnosis, and the necessity for effective treatment strategies, comparing the treatment approach to gold standard regimens.
