Olga Berggolts in besieged Leningrad: poetry in the context of diary entries 1941–1945
The article examines the poetic works of Olga Berggolts from 1941 to 1945 in the context of their relationship with her diary prose of these years. The connecting factors are being researched between the direct speech of diary prose and poetry, which was broadcast on the radio in besieged Leningrad and widely published. A home feature of O. Berggolts’s personal position is the separation of the concepts of Motherland and state, which is clearly seen in the example of the poetess’s attitude towards insignia and military awards. The appeal of both poetry and diary prose of blockade years is noted to an explicit or implicit addressee, which indicates an increase in the dialogical beginning of O. Berggolts’s work during the war.
