Methodological basis of digital business transformation

An attempt has been made to determine the methodological basis for the implementation of digital business transformation projects. The interest in the issue under consideration is related to the urgent need to make the digital transition not only at the level of a single company, but also on the scale of the national economy. Currently, companies in all industries and spheres are engaged in the implementation of digital technologies, as in the current conditions this is a necessary factor in ensuring competitive advantages for survival in the markets. Understanding the methodological basis of digital business transformation will simplify the management of these processes and unify them. The methodological basis for managing the digital transformation of business in modern conditions is defined, the existing management approaches are analyzed: project, process and ecosystem (platform). Attention is focused on the advantages and disadvantages of each approach. The main emphasis is placed on the fact that a business process is a repetitive intensive activity with a repetitive result. The project activity is characterized by a single activity with a unique output result. The ecosystem (platform) approach is only being formed and is manifested in the integration of the company into a large digital platform (ecosystem). The approaches to defining definitions such as digitalization and digital transformation are analyzed. Despite the fact that in practice these terms are used as synonyms, it is noted that there is a need to separate these concepts. To solve this problem, it is recommended to rely on a project approach, since the digital transformation of each company is an independent project. The result of such a project is a unique result – a new business model of the company. As a result, a conceptual model of the organization's digital transformation is proposed, the methodological basis of which is the project approach.
