ADOLESCENT GIRLS' REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH AND BEHAVIOR: FEATURES AND INFLUENCING FACTORS

This article presents an analysis of adolescent girls’ reproductive health and sexual behavior, focusing on the key factors that influence the formation of their reproductive behavior. Objective. The purpose of the study is to analyze the reproductive health of adolescent girls in the city of Novosibirsk and the Novosibirsk region, as well as to assess the impact of parents, educators, and doctors on the formation of their reproductive behavior. Material and methods. From 2019 to 2023, the study included 400 adolescent girls aged 16.3±0.1 years, residing in Novosibirsk and the Novosibirsk region. The study involved the analysis of medical data from preventive examinations and health visits from 2019 to 2022, as well as anonymous surveys of adolescents and their parents to assess their knowledge of reproductive health. Additionally, 86 pediatricians, 34 obstetricians-gynecologists, and 420 educators were surveyed. Clinical examinations of 127 adolescents were also conducted. Data were processed using MS Excel and Statistica 10.0 (StatSoft, USA). Results. Adolescent girls face various reproductive health problems, including dysmenorrhea, pelvic inflammatory diseases, and breast pathology. The average age of sexual introduction was 15.6 years and a significant number of adolescents showed insufficient adherence to regular contraception use, increasing risks to their reproductive health. The role of parents, educators, and healthcare providers in sexual education remains important but is not sufficiently effective due to a lack of knowledge and time. Conclusions. The study emphasizes the need to develop comprehensive educational programs and distance learning resources to increase awareness of reproductive health issues among adolescents, their parents, and educators. These measures aim to improve preventive efforts, which may help reduce the risk of gynecological diseases and preserve the reproductive potential of society.
