DIABETIC CARDIOMYOPATHY: CURRENT STATE OF THE PROBLEM
This review article presents a comprehensive analysis of current research on diabetic cardiomyopathy (DCM). The article begins with an overview of the pathophysiological mechanisms underlying the phenomenon, including the effects of hyperglycemia, oxidative stress, ischemia, and cardiac remodeling. The current diagnostic techniques such as echocardiography, magnetic resonance imaging, and heart failure are then reviewed, emphasizing the importance of early detection and monitoring. The final part of the article discusses treatment strategies for DCM, including lifestyle modification, glycemic control, the use of modern sugar-lowering drugs and renin-angiotensin system inhibitors. Special attention is paid to new approaches, such as the use of miRNAs and cellular therapies, and the prospects for future research in personalized medicine. Information on the topic from publications based on PubMed, Google Scholar and eLIBRARY databases was used, depth of coverage 35 years.
