The Derbenevs Industrialist’s Social Activities During the First Russian Revolution
The article examines in detail the social activities of the Derbenev factory owners in relation to their workers, as well as some other segments of the population in 1905-1907. The main sources used were documents from the State Archives of the Vladimir and Ivanovo regions, some of which had never been used before. This made it possible to study such important aspects of social transformation as housing, medical care, education, communications, and religion, as these aspects are considered to be the main basis of the daily life of the working class. It should be emphasized that the Derbenevs' successes led to the creation of real incentives for work at their enterprises, contributing to an increase in productivity. In general, the study provides an opportunity to find out the social portrait of the Derbenev industrialists and their contribution to improving the situation of the working class.
