On the Cultural and Philosophical Interpretation of Male Identity in Contemporary Society
A cultural-philosophical, psychosocial position is put forward, focusing on how dominant features of masculinity are limited and activated in certain contexts, intersecting with other identities. The constructiveness of the analysis of men as embodied, emotional and caring subjects is emphasized, i.e., studying how men perceive traditionally feminine ideals and practices. It is recommended to pay special attention to local manifestations of masculinity in specific communities, including computer-mediated environments that facilitate the multidimensional expression of digital masculinity. The emphasis is on cultural and philosophical changes in the position of men and masculinity in contemporary society.
