THE IMPACT OF NATURAL FACTORS ON EROSION PROCESSES IN THE BIZDIDEL RIVER BASIN

This study analyzes the impact of natural factors on erosion processes in the BizdidelRiver basin, highlighting the interaction between geomorphological characteristics, soil types, and the climatic regime. The relief is assessed using a hypsometric map, while the distribution of soils is analyzed based on cartographic data processed with the help of QGIS.In addition, the specific climatic conditions of the area are examined, with a focus on the precipitation regime, which influences the intensity of soil erosion. The geomatics methods, such as remote sensing and spatial analysis, employed in this study allow for a detailed characterization of risk factors and the identification of areas with high susceptibility to erosion.By correlating geomorphological parameters with data on soil types and climate, the study provides a comprehensive perspective on the dynamics of land degradation processes. The use of remote sensing data, combined with GIS-based spatial analysis, improves the accuracy of erosion risk assessments. The obtained results contribute to a better understanding of erosion mechanisms and can be used to implement preventive and management measures, supporting sustainable land use planning and conservation efforts. The goal of the research is to determine the vulnerability of the basin to erosion, highlighting the key factors and their impact on land stability, thus providing a solid foundation for future strategies aimed at mitigating the effects of erosion.
