Metabolity wtórne - od trucizn po leki
Secondary metabolites are a diverse group of organic compounds produced by plants, fungi, microorganisms, and invertebrates. Although they are not directly involved in essential life processes such as growth or reproduction, they play many important roles that help organisms survive. This article describes what secondary metabolites are, why they are produced, what role they play in human life, and whether they are safe for our health.
