TECHNOLOGICAL APPROACHES TO THE USE OF EXERCISE EQUIPMENT IN THE ATHLETIC TRAINING OF UNIVERSITY STUDENTS
The article outlines the scientific and methodological foundations for integrating training equipment technologies into the athletic training system for higher education students. The focus of the study is the educational component “Training Equipment Technologies,” presented as an effective tool for developing both general and professional competencies, as well as for achieving learning outcomes essential for working with modern training machines in educational, wellness, and sports settings. Particular attention is paid to the structure of the methodological support for this educational component, including the syllabus, course outline, lecture content, methodological guidelines for practical classes, individual and independent assignments, assessment criteria, and knowledge evaluation tools. The educational process is organized based on an interdisciplinary approach, combining knowledge from anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, the theory and methodology of physical education, and related disciplines. The course content is aimed at equipping future specialists with professional pedagogical knowledge and skills for the effective use of modern training machines in physical education, athletic training, and wellness programs. The curriculum covers the history of training equipment development, classification and functional characteristics of machines, and methods of their application within the educational process. Emphasis is placed on safety, the individualization of training, and the role of training equipment in rehabilitation and therapeutic physical culture. The discipline integrates theoretical knowledge with practical skills, thereby contributing to the preparation of competitive professionals in the field of physical education and sport. The article analyzes the outcomes of implementing this educational component, emphasizing its practical orientation, which enables students not only to acquire theoretical knowledge but also to develop hands-on skills necessary for conducting training sessions with different age groups. Clearly defined learning outcomes are presented, encompassing knowledge of the material and technical base, the ability to conduct wellness and sports training, adherence to safety standards, individualized training approaches, and injury prevention strategies.
