Abstract

The article updates the issue of the influence of the general education environment on the subjects of the educational process. It is noted that as a result of the action of negative educational factors, students and teachers lose their health en masse. This situation poses a threat to ensuring sustainable development, and therefore requires a solution. It is argued that an effective way to solve the problem is to improve the labor protection training of future teachers as preparation for preserving the life, health and working capacity of subjects of the general education environment. It is stated that the readiness to preserve the life, health and working capacity of subjects of the general education environment is declared by educational legislation, higher education standards and professional standards. Based on the analysis of the theoretical aspects of the problem under study, it was established that in modern conditions, orientation towards sustainable development has become a property of the education system. Based on the analysis of the practical aspects of the problem under study, a significant number of shortcomings were identified: misunderstanding of the significance of labor protection training of future teachers for ensuring sustainable human development; reduction of labor protection training to general health-improving ideas; failure to take into account the root causes of health loss by subjects of the educational process (violation of sanitary and hygienic standards, restriction of physical activity, excessive stress, great responsibility, and much more). The purpose of the publication is to highlight the features of labor protection training for teachers in the context of ensuring sustainable human development. The author’s position on improving labor protection training of future teachers in the context of ensuring sustainable development is substantiated: the presence of an labor protection discipline in the educational program, the professional orientation of the content of this discipline, and effective technologies for its teaching. Directions for further research are proposed: studying the possibilities of informal education for labor protection training of future teachers; developing skills in monitoring and analyzing the state of occupational safety in an educational institution; developing competence in managing labor protection in educational institutions.
