PEDAGOGICAL CONDITIONS FOR THE PROFESSIONAL TRAINING OF FUTURE TEACHERS FOR STUDENTS’ CULTURAL AND LEISURE ACTIVITIES

The article focuses on developing the theoretical foundations of pedagogical conditions that facilitate the preparation of future teachers for organizing cultural and leisure activities for students, taking into account the current challenges of Ukrainian education. The relevance of the topic stems from transformations in the educational sphere, particularly the New Ukrainian School reform, which emphasizes the importance of a competency-based approach, and the need to train teachers as mentors capable of unlocking students’ creative potential through extracurricular activities. The primary aim of the study is to substantiate the pedagogical conditions for the professional development of teachers in the field of students’ cultural and leisure activities and to formulate practical recommendations for their implementation within the higher pedagogical education system. The author examines challenges related to teachers’ insufficient readiness to plan leisure activities, the impact of the digital society on the younger generation—particularly the issue of internet addiction—and the lack of school resources due to wartime conditions. An analysis of scholarly literature has identified five key conditions: enhancing students’ agency through democratic leadership and project-based methods; integrating traditional activities (clubs, festivals) with modern formats (quests, workshops) to develop essential 21st-century skills; creating an informational educational environment using digital technologies; fostering collaboration between schools, cultural institutions, and parents through social initiatives; and preparing teachers for innovative work by encouraging creative thinking and building a repository of innovative ideas. These conditions are supported by practical suggestions, such as training sessions, workshops, and exposure to best practices. The article highlights the role of cultural and leisure activities, which have recreational, educational, and socializing effects, contributing to the development of a well-rounded personality. The conclusions underscore the importance of the proposed conditions for improving teacher training, while future research directions suggest focusing on adapting to remote learning formats and incorporating international experiences.
