USE OF INTERACTIVE TEACHING METHODS IN TEACHING OCCUPATIONAL PROTECTION

The article is devoted to the study of the effectiveness of using interactive teaching methods in the instruction of the "Occupational Safety" course. It emphasizes that teaching occupational safety is a key element of professional training for specialists, as workplace safety is a fundamental condition for the effective performance of professional duties. The article substantiates the inadequacy of relying exclusively on traditional approaches, which do not ensure the development of students’ practical skills, critical thinking, teamwork abilities, and the capacity to make informed decisions in non-standard situations. Significant changes are taking place in modern educational processes, aimed at fostering in-depth knowledge acquisition and the development of essential competencies among students. Interactive teaching methods are identified as a leading approach that enhances students’ interest, motivation, and active engagement in learning activities, as well as the development of practical workplace safety skills. These methods create conditions for active interaction between students and instructors, contributing to the development of critical thinking, creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills in situations that closely resemble real-life scenarios. The particular relevance of interactive methods in occupational safety instruction lies in their ability to enable students not only to grasp theoretical concepts but also to practice their application, especially in cases involving emergency situations. The article provides a detailed examination of specific interactive methods, such as case studies, role-playing games, brainstorming sessions, debates, simulations, small group learning, and expert interviews. The use of these methods promotes deeper understanding of the material, the formation of practical skills, increased motivation, and the development of key competencies (critical thinking, teamwork, decision-making). Interactive learning brings the educational process closer to real production conditions, fosters a responsible attitude toward safety, and prepares competent professionals capable of acting effectively in risky situations.
