Semi – automated analysis for the Nanoscale determination of Chlorpheniramine maleate drug using sodium nitroprusside by continuous flow feed via homemade NAG-SSP Photometer
This study presents a rapid, sensitive, and straightforward approach to measuring Chlorpheniramine maleate (CPM) using turbidity CFIA. The method involves reacting of CPM with sodium nitroprusside(nitropress) to produce a pale white precipitate . To detect the attenuation of incident light as a result of collision on the surfaces of the precipitate particles, the analyzer NAG-SSP-5S-1D was used to measure turbidity at an angle (0-180 ͦ).The linear range of CPM measurements extends from 0.008 to 11 m.mol/Liter with Correlation Coefficient of 0.9983 and R2% = 99.65 .The limit of detection (LOD) was determined to be 0.0328 µg/sample from diluted the lowest concentration in the calibration curve, and the repeatability of the method (RSD%) was demonstrated to be less than 0.4 % (n=6) for the selected concentration (10,13 m.mol/Liter). The method was successfully applied to the determination of CPM in a variety of drugs using the standard addition method. A comparison was made between the newly developed method analysis and the classical method ( (UV Spectrophotometry at λmax= 265nm and turbidity) using t-test. It was noticed that there was no significant difference between the three methods at 95 % confidence level . Overall, the developed flow injection method offers simplicity, sensitivity, and reliable analytical performance for the determination of CPM. Therefore the newly developed method can be used of as an alternative and an acceptable method for the analysis of CPM in drugs compared to the reference method.
