Fibrosarkoma anaplastike e nofullës së poshtme

The aim of this paper was to present the results of the first study on the frequency and types of medical emergencies (MEs) in dental practices in Croatia. The study was conducted via an online survey among 319 (7%) of active dentists registered in the Croatian dental chamber. The most common ME encountered was vasovagal syncope (81.8%), while less frequent emergencies included hypoglycemia, epileptic seizures, asthma attacks, and cardiac arrest (1.9%). Due to MEs, 27% of respondents had to call emergency medical services, and 2.5% had to resuscitate a patient in their office. The frequency of MEs was higher among dentists with specialization and longer work experience. In conclusion, MEs are a common occurrence in dental practice, highlighting the need for continuous education of dental teams in their recognition and management. Keywords: medical emergency, syncope, hypoglycemia.
