After Identity: The Ethical Enduring of the Subject - in the Philosophy of Rosi Braidotti
The subject of this article is an analysis of the non-anthropocentric, posthumanist conception of the subject proposed by Rosi Braidotti. It is based on the posthumanist notion of matter understood as life (zoe) and the affirmative ethics developed by Braidotti. The article poses the problem of which categories can replace the notion of subject identity. Because of the framing of subjectivity, which reaches out to the totality of the community of human and non-human entities through affective relations, it is difficult to maintain an essentialist understanding of identity. However, an analysis of the ethical becoming of the subject makes it possible to replace identity with the category of fidelity to self on which its sustainability is based
