Methodological bases for assessing the effectiveness of outsourcing projects in the banking sector
The active growth of the outsourcing market is due to the opportunities it creates for companies. By using outsourcing, companies can achieve such positive effects as cost optimization, improving the quality of business processes, technology transfer, and increasing the company's goodwill. On the other hand, the use of outsourcing is sometimes also associated with certain risks for business, among which it is worth highlighting the long-term costs of negotiations, coordination, managing the contractor's team, as well as the cost of risk. In this regard, studying the effectiveness of outsourcing projects seems to be an important and relevant research task. The authors of the article examined the theoretical and methodological foundations of outsourcing, which should be understood as the transfer by the customer of secondary and non-key business processes for the company, part of its functions and tasks to an external contractor who works independently, but in the interests of the customer, and has, as a rule, a higher level of specialization and expertise in the business process that is outsourced. The key motives for using outsourcing by banking organizations are considered. The results of the study are that as a result of its implementation, approaches to classification, advantages and disadvantages of outsourcing projects in the banking sector have been systematized, and methods for assessing their effectiveness have been systematized. In the final part of the article, conclusions are formulated demonstrating that in order to assess the effectiveness of outsourcing projects, banks should use a combination of quantitative (calculation of the cost ratio, NPV and ROI, IRR, payback period) and qualitative (determination of strategic benefits, risks and costs) methods.
