For an extended period, Latvian legal system lacked a legal framework for setting aside arbitral awards. This absence undermined legal certainty and fairness, and, furthermore, gave rise to various legal and practical challenges. However, with the adoption of the relevant regulation – despite its limited practical application to date – it is essential to analyse the theoretical and practical issues that may emerge in the context of setting aside arbitral awards.

This absence undermined legal certainty and fairness, and, furthermore, gave rise to various legal and practical challenges.
