HIGH-RESOLUTION NUMERICAL INVESTIGATION OF AERODYNAMICS AND HEAT TRANSFER IN THE ATMOSPHERIC BOUNDARY LAYER

The results of numerical vortex resolution modeling of a turbulent boundary layer with high resolution (~100 m) for Tomsk conditions obtained using the Weather Research & Forecasting model are presented. The calculation results are compared with observations from the meteorological stations of the Institute of Optics and Atmosphere of the SB RAS. Preliminary results indicate the need for further studies of the surface turbulent structure.

Abstract

The results of numerical vortex resolution modeling of a turbulent boundary layer with high resolution (~100 m) for Tomsk conditions obtained using the Weather Research & Forecasting model are presented. The calculation results are compared with observations from the meteorological stations of the Institute of Optics and Atmosphere of the SB RAS. Preliminary results indicate the need for further studies of the surface turbulent structure.
