Hypertension in Young: Finding the Needle in a Haystack
A BSTRACT Hypertension (HTN) in young adults is often underdiagnosed and inadequately evaluated, despite its rising incidence. Studies suggest that 2%–5% of young adults have HTN, yet many remain undetected due to asymptomatic presentation and lack of routine screening. Secondary HTN, common in this group, is frequently overlooked, leading to delayed diagnosis of underlying conditions such as renal disease or endocrine disorders. Early evaluation, targeted investigations, and tailored interventions help to prevent long-term complications. Greater awareness, better screening protocols, and improved access to diagnostic tools are essential to bridge this gap and optimize outcomes in young hypertensive patients.
