Influence of beat frequency excitation on the traction drive system in high-speed train under electromechanical coupling

A complete electromechanical coupling model for the traction drive system of a high-speed train is established to study the influence of 100 Hz beat frequency component on the traction drive system. A second-order active disturbance rejection controller (ADRC) is proposed for the electrical control system model, which can replace PI and suppress system disturbance. The vehicle model is built with the entire transmission system, wheelsets, axle boxes, bogie frames, and the car-body. The line test and simulation results confirm that the current distortion and 100 Hz torque ripple caused by beat frequency excitation occur in the traction motor, which verifies the effectiveness of the simulation model. The root mean square (RMS) and peak values, and 99–101 Hz filtering are applied to analyze the vibration acceleration of mechanical structures, revealing the vibration characteristics of the traction drive system induced by beat frequency excitation. Moreover, comparative studies indicate that when the filtering of beat frequency component fails, ADRC shows a significant suppression effect on the 100 Hz vibration of the traction drive system.
