The effect of plyometric training on improving jump smash in amateur volleyball athletes

Based on the results of observations conducted by researchers during extracurricular volleyball training at Smk Negri 1 Cianjur and the results of interviews with Cocah Deni Hermawan stated that female students who did smashes were good from the first step, circling the arm, hitting and landing, only the jumping or pushing part was still not good. The training provided by the trainer in an effort to improve the explosive power of fitness muscles to athletes only did up and down stairs training. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct research on the application of training methods that will be taught in training. This study aims to determine the effect of plyometric muscle training on improving jump smash ability in amateur volleyball athletes. The research method used is an experiment using One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The population of this study were volleyball athletes who took extracurricular activities. The sample of this study was taken from a population of 15 people. The results showed that plyometric muscle training on increasing jump smash increased by 0.921 with a significance value of 0.02 <0.05. Significant. The results show that there is an influence of plyometric muscle training on increasing jump smash in amateur volleyball athletes.
