State Management of Culture in the USSR in 1970s to 1980s: The Concept, Peculiarities, Experience

The article analyzes the basics of the organization of the system of state management of culture in the USSR in the 70–80 years of the last century on the basis of normative acts and official documents of that time. The various levels of the management bodies of this system and their competencies are shown, taking into account the structural and functional purpose. It is proposed to consider the possibility of using this historical experience in the activities of state cultural management bodies in modern Russia.
