Power Management System for a DC Micro-Grid Based on Fuzzy-FOPID

The research develops an innovative energy controller based on fuzzy logic technology which applies fractional order proportional integral derivative (FO-PID) control approaches for enhancing power quality in a DC microgrid equipped with battery storage along with wind energy and photovoltaic energy sources to establish a hybrid energy system. A control system for source-side converters serves multiple functions by obtaining maximum energy from wind generators and PV arrays while boosting power quality across the entire microgrid. The control method includes a fractional order PID structure that delivers optimal performance results. The research focuses on wind and PV energy management throughout its cost optimization strategy. The controller operates the output power sources to establish stable power output along with continuous grid availability. The control scheme performance evaluation occurs in MATLAB/Simulink software which demonstrates the advantages of fractional-order control systems through simulation results.
