IRS Communication Realization Using ADALM-PLUTO
This study provides an in-depth examination of the implementation of Intelligent Reflecting Surface (IRS) communication utilizing the ADALM-PLUTO (Analog Devices Active Learning Module - Pluto) platform. The IRS technology utilizes programmable passive surfaces to augment signal propagation, representing a novel option for enhancing wireless communication efficacy in intricate situations. The ADALM-PLUTO platform, with a versatile RF transceiver, facilitates real-time experimentation and practical execution of communication systems. This study illustrates the viability of incorporating IRS into wireless systems utilizing the ADALM-PLUTO device, emphasizing channel modeling, signal reflections, and performance improvements in both simulated and real-world contexts. This study utilizes the ADALM-PLUTO to examine the influence of IRS on critical performance metrics, including signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), detection probability, and classification accuracy of the system. The results underscore the considerable potential of IRS to enhance communication efficiency and reliability, indicating a possible pathway for next-generation wireless systems, including 5G and beyond.
