Signal Filtering by Quadratic Semi-Infinite Programming
This paper describes a method for signal filtering based on quadratic semi-infinite programming (QSIP). The method offers a number of advantages over traditional linear discrete-time filtering, including lower stopband error and uniform signal power in the stopband. The method is particularly well suited for short-duration signals, for which conventional linear filters may have undesirable transients. However our method can also be applied to filtering long duration signals via an overlapadd approach.
