Optimizing DFIG Wind Power Performance Using D-STATCOM And E2PLL
The incorporation of offshore wind power benefits the economy and environment yet power quality deteriorates because demand variations pair with wind variability and power electronic operation. The implementation of proper control systems becomes necessary for addressing voltage stability conditions which impact doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) wind turbines. D-STATCOM enhances voltage stability as this FACTS unit enables control of disturbances happening during power failures and short circuits [2]. An E2PLL-based firing angle controller brought together with IGBTs and thyristors maintains continuous operation at any supply frequency and throughout all operational transients. The technical operation and environmental advantages of modern wind energy organizations become possible because of this system configuration.
