AI-based early diagnosis system for neurodegenerative diseases
Neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), pose significant challenges in early diagnosis due to their complex and progressive nature. Artificial Intelligence (AI) has emerged as a transformative tool in healthcare, providing innovative solutions for the early detection and management of these disorders. AI-based early diagnosis systems leverage machine learning algorithms, deep learning networks, and multimodal data processing techniques to analyze neuroimaging scans, genetic markers, speech patterns, and behavioral data. By identifying subtle disease-specific patterns, these systems enable timely interventions, personalized treatment plans, and improved patient outcomes. Furthermore, AI enhances diagnostic accuracy by reducing human errors and integrating large-scale datasets to provide more comprehensive insights. Despite its potential, challenges such as data privacy, algorithm bias, and clinical validation remain key hurdles to widespread adoption. This paper explores the methodologies employed in AI-driven early diagnosis systems, reviews recent advancements in the field, and discusses future directions for integrating AI into mainstream clinical practice. The findings highlight the crucial role of AI in revolutionizing neurodegenerative disease diagnosis and emphasize the need for interdisciplinary collaboration to optimize its effectiveness and accessibility.
