A Deep Learning-Powered Medicine Vending Machine for Automated Prescription Interpretation and Contactless Payment

In recent years, technological advancements have significantly transformed the healthcare sector, offering innovative solutions to improve patient convenience and streamline medical services. This research proposes the development of an automated medicine vending machine designed to revolutionize the prescription and medication dispensing process. The system is structured around three main components: prescription recognition, medicine retrieval, and secure digital payment. Utilizing machine learning and image recognition, the system accurately reads prescriptions and identifies the correct medication along with its dosage, ensuring precision and reducing human error. Once the medication is identified, the machine automatically retrieves it, thereby minimizing the time spent by patients in queues. To enhance convenience and security, the system integrates widely used digital payment platforms such as PAYTM and Google Pay (GPay), eliminating the need for cash transactions. This seamless payment process not only simplifies the user experience but also promotes hygiene and efficiency. Overall, this research aims to deliver a self-service, automated medicine dispensing system that addresses current inefficiencies in pharmacy operations. By combining AI-driven prescription analysis with automated retrieval and cashless payment, the proposed vending machine provides a modern, user-friendly, and secure solution for medication access, ultimately contributing to a more efficient and accessible healthcare ecosystem.
