Chronic venous diseases in pregnant women. Current trends and prospects for further research

The purpose — to analyze 2024–2025 publications on the mutual effects of chronic venous diseases and pregnancy in order to formulate prospects for the problem further development. Material and methods. The paper analyzes publications over the past 16 months concerning chronic venous diseases in pregnant women, including meta-analyses, reviews, and articles from PubMed and e-library sources. Results. The analysis of the latest data from modern literature allows determining the prospects for studying the pathogenesis of obstetric and perinatal complications in pregnant women with chronic venous diseases. The approach to thromboprophylaxis in pregnant women might be revised, taking into account the role of endothelial dysfunction in the pathology of veins. Conclusion. Currently, it is promising to search for new clinical and genetic markers for early prediction of obstetric pathology in pregnant women with endothelial dysfunction caused by venous insufficiency in order to timely correct the identified disorders and prevent adverse outcomes for mother and fetus.
