Health status of newborns, children, teenagers and adults born with fetal growth restriction syndrome. Literature review

The purpose was to analyze the Russian and foreign scientific publications on the condition of newborns, children, teenagers and adults born with fetal growth restriction (FGR). Material and methods. We analyzed scientific papers published and posted in Cochrane, Pubmed, Elsevier, and E-library databases. Results. Numerous studies show that the impact of FGR extends not only to the early neonatal period, but also to the child’s further development and reduces the quality of life of the child and adult, affecting cognitive functions and causing neurological, metabolic, cardiovascular, respiratory, reproductive and visual impairments. Conclusion. It is necessary to monitor not only newborns, but also children and adults born with FGR in order to minimize the risks of short-term and long-term outcomes.
