The term “Social Capital” has been introduced and used in social sciences quite frequently in the past three decades. Some prestigious organizations or famous scholars have given definitions of the concept of “Social Capital” in their works. However, to be fair, up to now, the research community has still encountered many difficulties in reaching a final consensus on the connotation of this concept. Based on the above situation, the article will examine the general connotation of the concept of “Social Capital”, the differences and interrelationships between the viewpoints and some related issues.
