THE ROLE OF RURAL AGGLOMERATIONS AND KEY SETTLEMENTS IN THE SPATIAL DEVELOPMENT OF AGRICULTURE IN RUSSIA
One of the priority directions of spatial development of agriculture is the formation and development of agglomerations aimed at accelerated improvement of the life of the population. The formation of a limited number of large and large agglomerations with a high concentration of population and production resources contributes to the rational use of natural and climatic conditions. However, the incompletely developed strategy for the socio-economic development of the Russian economy, combined with the prevailing conditions and changes in the territorial structure of the state related to the implementation of the SVR, led to the need to address the formation of new territorial entities. Against this background, the choice of agglomerations is a primary task, the solution of which will determine the further development of rural areas. Currently, there are large socio-economic differences in the country, affecting the competitive advantages associated with the spatial organization of production in agriculture. Therefore, in the future, a new approach to the socio-economic policy of rural development is needed, since they produce agricultural products, raw materials and food, and preserve the national characteristics and traditions of the rural population. This, in turn, will require the dynamic functioning of the industry and the territories where agricultural products are produced in conjunction with the agrarian policy of the state. Based on this, rural areas will have to be developed as a whole to ensure the country's food security.
