SOME REGIONAL ASPECTS OF THE DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION OF AGRICULTURE IN THE BAIKAL REGION

The digital transformation of agriculture is an inevitable stage of development and an essential tool for improving the economic efficiency of the industry. Most of the agro-developed countries are actively developing and applying in agriculture a set of approaches inherent in industry 4.0, which involves digitalization of practically all stages of production. The process of digital transformation of agriculture is also actively developing in Russia, however, due to significant differences in natural and climatic conditions and economic efficiency of production in different parts of the country, the scale of their use is significantly differentiated. In the conditions of the Baikal region, digital tools are increasingly finding their use, but rather than using them comprehensively, we are talking about the introduction of individual components with obvious economic efficiency. The features of the application of elements of digitalization of agricultural production in the Baikal region are the main purpose of this article. Due to the fact that the agricultural sector occupies an insignificant part in the structure of the region's gross output, the issues of its transition to a digital platform are not so relevant. However, the place that agriculture occupies in the region in the functioning of its food complex necessitates the digital transformation of the industry, contributing to the overall productivity growth of the industry.
