Bibliometric analysis of logistics and supply chain research (2020–2024)
This study presents a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of logistics and supply chain management research published between 2020 and 2024, based on data retrieved from the OpenAlex scholarly database. A total of 63,095 publications were examined to identify research trends, influential authors, leading institutions, highly cited journals, and major funding bodies. The analysis reveals a significant rise in research output during the period, with growing emphasis on digital transformation, Industry 4.0 technologies, sustainability, supply chain resilience, and risk management—particularly in response to global challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic. China, Iran, and India emerged as the top contributing countries, supported by strong national research funding. More than half of the publications were open access, indicating a shift toward broader dissemination of scientific knowledge. In terms of individual contributions, Dmitry Ivanov was identified as the most influential author based on citation metrics and Field-Weighted Citation Impact, while Journal of Cleaner Production led in both publication volume and academic impact.
