STRATEGI KONSERVASI SEBAGAI UPAYA PENGEMBANGAN KOLEKSI TUMBUHAN DI KEBUN RAYA INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI SUMATERA (ITERA) LAMPUNG
The Sumatra Institute of Technology (ITERA) Botanical Garden is the second botanical garden in Indonesia under a university after the Halu Oleo botanical garden in Southeast Sulawesi. It is hoped that the ITERA Flat Garden with the theme "Conservation of Pamah Sumatra" can become a forum for ex-situ plant conservation in Lampung Province. Plants that are conserved ex situ are divided into 2 (two) collection plants and non-collection plants. The existence of plant collections in botanical gardens is a "representation" of the flora in Indonesia, so the quality and quality of collection management is important. Therefore, this research aims to analyze conservation strategies as an effort to develop plant collections in the ITERA botanical gardens. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire method, then the data was analyzed using SWOT analysis (Strength, Weaknesses, Opportunity and Threat), then to formulate a strategy using the SWOT matrix and Internal Factor Analysis Summary (IFAS) matrix and External Factor Analysis Summary (EFAS) matrix. ). The results of this research are based on a graph of the position of the ITERA Botanical Gardens in quadrant I of the SWOT analysis. This position is very profitable where the ITERA Botanical Gardens have great strengths and opportunities. The strategy that must be implemented in the conditions of the ITERA botanical gardens is to support aggressive strategies (growth-oriented strategies).
