Effects of powder particle size distribution on the microstructure and properties of Laser powder bed fusion CuSn10 alloy

Three types of gas-atomised CuSn10 powders were used to manufacture bronze samples using laser powder bed fusion (LPBF) technology. Subsequently, the influence of particle size distribution on the microstructure and properties of the CuSn10 samples was investigated. The results indicated that the samples prepared from dual-granularity powders exhibited dense microstructure, achieving a density of 8.89 g/cm³, hardness of 148.2 HB, and tensile strength of 501.2 MPa. In addition, the samples prepared by dual-granularity powders were post-treated, resulting in lower tensile strength, higher elongation, and lower hardness.
