Radical reductive formylation of N-heteroarenes with formic acid under catalyst- and solvent-free conditions

A catalyst- and solvent-free system for reductive formylation of N-heteroarenes with formic acid was developed via a radical-mediated hydrogen transfer strategy to obtain N -formyl-heterocycles.
