Empowering Education: Strategies to Overcome Primary Education Challenges in the Chattogram Hill Tracts

This study aims to identify the major challenges of primary education in the Chattogram Hill Tracts (CHT) and suggest strategies for improving access, quality, and effectiveness of education in the region. By employing purposive sampling techniques, the study has a sample size of 46 respondents; primary data were gathered using interview questionnaires, key informant interviews (KII), focus group discussion (FGD), and personal and participants’ observations. The secondary data were also collected from other relevant sources. This includes a discussion on relevant topics of interest, such as school infrastructure, access to educational materials, and the use of technology, while embracing the involvement of the community in the process as well. Inadequate sanitation facilities, access to drinking water, as well as poor classroom conditions serve as significant hindrances to escape access to quality education; the research provides sustainable solutions for infrastructure development. It also delves deeper into the role of community participation in education, identifying challenges faced and recommending strategies to strengthen school-community collaboration. The conclusions drawn from this innovative study may potentially shape the best practices and guide policy for regional educational advancement.
